175 Years Anniversary
Two days for a shipyard anniversary — the ceremony, the open yard and the ships at the centre of it.
The occasion
The anniversary had two parts: the ceremony and the day the gates opened.
Fassmer has built boats in Berne since 1850 and marked its 175th anniversary over two days in September. The first was for invited guests — speeches in front of a wall-sized backdrop, the management together for one frame, and the conversations between the talks.
The second day opened the yard to everyone else. Apprentices explained their trades at their own stands, a stage programme ran between the halls, and the ships themselves were close enough to stand underneath. We covered both days with photography and film.
